Six things, and what each includes
Not a menu designed to look comprehensive. These are the six pieces a move to Portugal is actually made of.

Full-load removals
Your household alone, on its own vehicle or in its own container. The right answer when you are sending a whole house and your dates matter.
- A survey of the UK property before anything is quoted
- Export-standard wrapping on furniture, not domestic blankets
- A full written inventory — customs will require one either way
- Collection anywhere in the UK and delivery to the Portuguese address
- One consignment, no transfer between vehicles on the mainland legs

Part-load and groupage
Your goods share the space with other consignments going the same way. Far and away the most common choice for a move to Portugal.
- Space costed to what you are actually sending, not a whole vehicle
- The same packing and wrapping standards as a full load
- Consolidation at our UK end, so your goods are handled less
- Collection windows rather than fixed dates — the trade for the saving
- Sensible for the islands, where a full container rarely makes sense

Export packing
The part people underestimate. A move to Portugal is handled more times than a UK move, and the packing has to be built for that.
- Full packing, or fragile-only if you would rather do the rest
- Export wrapping — corrugated, stretch-wrap and edge protection
- Purpose-made cartons: wardrobe, picture, china and book boxes
- Marine-grade wrapping for anything with a sea leg
- Room-by-room labelling matched to a plan for the new address

Storage, both ends
For the gap between leaving the UK and having somewhere in Portugal to put things — which is most moves, honestly.
- Sealed, inventoried containers in clean dry UK storage
- Storage at the Portuguese end through our destination partners
- Goods held while a rental is found or a purchase completes
- The usual answer for academic and research relocations
- Nothing hazardous, perishable or living — we will say what to leave behind

Customs and ToR relief
Portugal is in the EU and the UK is not, so household goods need a declaration in both directions. We prepare it with you.
- Export declaration from the UK and import clearance into Portugal
- Transfer of Residence relief applied for where you qualify
- Guidance on the NIF and proof-of-address documents you will need
- A valued inventory prepared to the standard customs expects
- Plain explanation of what each document is actually for

Sea freight to the islands
Madeira and the Azores cannot be reached by road. Everything goes by sea, and that changes how it has to be packed.
- Overland leg to a mainland Portuguese port, then sea to the island
- Inter-island transfer where you are not going to the main island
- Marine wrapping against humidity, salt and repeated handling
- Groupage container space, which suits almost every island household
- Honest scheduling — sailings run to their timetable, not ours
What we do not do
A short list, because a firm that claims everything is telling you nothing.

Vehicles
Shipping a car or a motorbike has its own registration and tax consequences in Portugal. It is a separate discipline and not ours.

Pets
Animal relocation needs specialists with the right authorisations. We will not put a pet in a removal vehicle.

Other countries
We drive through France and Spain but take no work to either. Portugal is the only destination on our books.

Tax advice
We handle the customs documents. What residency means for your income or your pension is a question for someone qualified.
